Really? I’ve gone 361 days without posting about microwaves?!
This time of year, I’m so thankful for instantly hot beverages. And I recommend this, which I just tried (I got it at the grocery store). Yum.

Although I have already extolled the virtues of GPS, I am also quite thankful for Google Maps. We drove all over northern VA today, and with Google Maps on my phone, I could map out the best route for our errands and even search for food on the route when we got hungry.

I’m thankful for progress.
I’ve been doing Jillian Michaels’ 30-Day Shred, which has three levels. On Level 1, I was puffing and wheezing trying to do squatting punches. Now on Level 3, I’m doing punches WITH weights. Yeah!!

Once again, I could’ve sworn I already covered this one. Today, I salute you, Mr. Contact Lens Inventor Guy! Without you, I would be condemned to a lifetime of feeling like my bespectacled 6th grade self. (Note to her/me: No, the glasses do not need to be half the size of your face.)
Contacts are truly amazing. They are teensy and oh-so-thin, yet they are able to replace even the Coke-bottle thickness of my (abysmally near-sighted) glasses prescription. With them, I can wear sunglasses! Instead of – wait for it – clip-on sunglasses. Oh yes, I did that. As a kid. Which is just sad.
For this, I will gladly reach into my eyeball on a twice-daily basis! Hooray!

I have seasonal allergies, and by “seasonal” I mean “year-round.” A few years ago, a couple of friends suggested I try the Neti Pot. At first I thought it was really weird… but it works for me. It helps when allergies are kicking up, or you feel a cold coming on, etc.
I realize some people will be grossed out by this. But go ahead, do a Google image search for “neti pot.” I laughed and laughed. It is not a glamorous experience.

I can’t believe I haven’t written about Advil yet. Who doesn’t love Advil? Our weather has been changing a lot this week, which means sinus headaches for me. Thank you, inventors of Advil!

I am a huge fan of the latest fun addition to my lunch bag: Wholly Guacamole 100-calorie packs. (To see the abbreviation for 100-calorie, “hun-cal,” used in a video, please see here. ) Wholly Guacamole is fresh and delicious, but because it’s so fresh, it’s perishable. So before the hun-cal packs came into my life, if I opened a regular-sized pack of it, it went bad after the first day. My husband doesn’t like guacamole, so that meant I could have it only when I was having other people over. Until hun-cal.
It’s a perfectly sized portion just for me, and each one is individually sealed to stay fresh. Love it!

I’m starting a new series on the blog called Products I Wish I Got Paid to Endorse. If any makers of these products happen to see it and want to pay me, I will gladly change the title.
I discovered PG Tips tea at the British Pantry, a fun little tea room that serves pots of it in Virginia. It’s a good strong tea and now my go-to for a morning jolt with English authenticity. I found it at my local grocery store, so I hope you can, too!
